Each day when you write a new chapter or a few pages to add, you have to think new ideas etc. When you write a book it's a constant flow of creativity. With an art piece, it's one formed idea but you need to present it clearly, so if you don't finish quickly, then the following days your just adding, rendering, etc. the image that is already laid out. Of course with experience the professional artist will know the timing for a piece and work on it enthusiastically until finished.
